Setting up your ZWO Seestar s50
Setting up your Seestar is extremely simple.
Remove the telescope from the supplied carry case along with the tripod.
Fully extend the tripod by twisting the grip on each leg and pulling the bottom half down. Do this for each leg. Place the tripod on the ground. If the ground is not level, try to get the round plate on the top of the tripod level by shortening each leg until you have the built in bubble in the marked circle.
At the base of the telescope is the mounting screw for the tripod. Screw the telescope on to the tripod and turn the unit on by pressing the button on the side until the lights illuminate.
That is all there is too it. All you need to do now is to connect the app to the telescope. To do this ensure that your mobile phone or tablet has the WifI and Bluetooth switched on and accessable.
1) When connecting for the first time, Open the Seestar app on your prefered device and click the "Connect" button. It will now search for your Seestar and once it has found it via the Bluetooth connection you simply select it and follow the on screen prompts.
2) On first connection the app will also ask you to press the reset button on the bass of the telescope. This is just a quick press and it confirms the connection. This is only prompted once AND when a NEW device is connected to the Seestar.
3) The app will then proceed to register the device via an online connection so make sure that you are near your home WiFi router or have your mobile data turned on for this step.
4) Once this step is complete the app will then initiate the WiFi direct connection to the Seestar. It will prompt you to open your WiFi settings. Then select the Seestars WiFi hotspot (that will look something like this (S50_XXXXXX)) and enter the password 12345678 when prompted and return to the Seestar app.
Congratulations, you are now all setup and ready to start imaging.
