How to use Sky Finder on your Dwarf
Sky Finder is a new Feature for the Dwarf 3 and Dwarf Mini telescopes.
It uses the wide lens to take a picture of any area of clear sky. It will then display what targets (in the Atlas) can be viewed in that part of the sky.
The results are displayed in drop pin boxes overlayed on the picture taken from the wide view camera. You can then select one and GoTo the target to be imaged with the Tele lens.
This guide will show you how to use the Sky Finder feature.
It is best at this point to quickly go to the wide lens and make sure the parameters are set to auto exposure and quite a high gain.
01) Slew the telescope to a clear, cloudless part of the sky. Objects can be in the wide field of view as you will see below.
02) While in "Astro" mode, Click the three dots in a circle on the left side of the screen.
03) Select "Sky Finder" from the list that appears on the right.
04) At this point the Dwarf will take a picture with the wide lens.
Any objects (in the Atlas) that are in that part of the sky will be displayed on the screen.
05) Select one of the drop pins to see the target information.
06) Click the camera symbol to initiate the Dwarf to GoTo the target.
07) Once the target is found, the Dwarf will start to track on the target.
08) All thats left is to set the parameters as normal and to start imaging.
